IMAGINE- John Lennon

"Imagine" is a song co-written and performed by English musician John Lennon.

                                                         It was released in 1971, one year after the Beatles broke up. It was the best-selling single of his solo career. Its lyrics encourage the listener to imagine a world at peace without the barriers of borders or the divisions of religion and nationality and to consider the possibility that the whole of humanity would live unattached to material possessions. Shortly before his death, Lennon said that much of the song's "lyric and content" came from his wife Yoko Ono, and in 2017, she received a co-writing credit.

The Beatles, grupo formado por cuatro jóvenes de los barrios pobres de Liverpool ( Inglaterra)  a principios de los años 60 en el siglo XX,  desarrollaron un estilo que se definió como beat, en el cual se marcaba  fuertemente cada parte del compás, y se obtenía como resultado una música muy cuadrada y rítmica. 

       En poco “Los cuatro fabulosos”como pronto se les conoció, en muy poco tiempo  transcendieron su condición de grupo musical para convertirse en un fenómeno social, tanto en Europa como en América.  Se llegó a poner de moda, entre la juventud,  el corte de pelo “a lo Beatles”, como una especie de símbolo de libertad. Se utilizó su imagen para promocionar productos comerciales  y  llegaron a protagonizar varias películas musicales. 

        Fue a partir del año 1966 cuando decidieron dejar de dar conciertos en directo y se dedicaron a la grabación en estudio con la intención de experimentar y buscar sonidos nuevos.  Fue en el disco " Revólver" publicado en ese año, en el que aparece el famosísimo tema " Yellow submarine" 

        En este tema " Tomorrow never knows" podrás ver el carácter experimental que decidieron seguir a partir de el disco " Revólver"

            En este vídeo podrás ver la última actuación del grupo en la azotea de los estudios de Londres de Abbey Road el día 30 de enero de 1969. Interpretan la canción titulada GET BACK que habría dado título al disco que hubiesen grabado de no acabarse el grupo.
